They say to never open a lady's purse.
But sometimes, it's a great exercise for your little one.
First, make sure you take out things that could hurt your LO when they put in the mouth. Leave in soft things like a scarf, an empty and cleaned pot of hand cream, lip gloss, wallet, etc.
Then let your little one try to manipulate the zipper and if they are successful, they'll be rewarded with stuff to explore in mummy's hand bag! This is called heuristic play; where children explore a variety of thongs, especially natural resources and try to make sense of them.
It's easy to clean up afterwards :D.
As a working mum, I don't always do messy play. But I always make an exception with noodles :D
It's so delightful for the toddler to try to feed himself and then mash it up when he's done. Yes, it's a mess... but sensory play is always a plus! He gains confidence as he can control his own play and decide what to do. He also experiences various textures and sensations with those tiny fingers.
I work with children at the best time of their lives; the early years! Here, I share quick short ideas, tips and ideas to support your learning journey with your adorable preschoolers.
